Green BeltCombined Grappling Arts - (CGA)

Green Belt Syllabus
(5 months minimum training)

1. Bottom of mount (double leg escape) to bottom of closed guard, opponent tries a leg on shoulder pass (elevator sweep) to top of mount, cuff choke.

2. Bottom of mount (leg over escape) to Achilles ankle lock (2 versions) to finish.

3. Low ankle shoot takedown, move to cross mount, move to knee on belt, knee bar (near leg and far leg) to finish.

4. Arm bar defense counters:
a) clasp hands: figure 4 arms and shake
b) grab your gi: lean and push with leg
c) grab your opponents gi: change angle and apply arm bar
d) figure 4 arms: squeeze lock with arms and legs
e) hands to top of your head: lock legs and apply arm bar
f) pull elbow to the mat: kneeling squeeze lock
g) stacking: come out the back, upside down arm bar to triangle choke.

5. Bottom of cross mount (push hip escape) to bottom of closed guard (hip bump sweep) to top of mount, move to S-mount, triangle choke to finish.

6. Bottom of cross mount (leg drag escape) to half guard, knee in hip escape to triangle choke to finish.

7. Triangle choke defense:
a) Stacking
b) Pin leg / Pull head
c) Hand to ear
d) Grab your Leg
e) Leg over and fall back

8. Bottom of scarf hold (bridge and roll escape) to cross mount, knee bar to finish.

9. Side drop throw (Yoko-otoshi), to cross mount, walk around to top of mount, paper cutter choke to finish.

10. Sprawl to defend against takedown, standing guillotine, pull to guard guillotine to finish.

11. Bottom of mount (backdoor escape) to Achilles ankle lock to finish.

12. Opponent pulls guard, near knee through pass to cross mount, bravo choke to finish.

13. Bottom of North/South (leg swing escape) to bottom of closed guard, chimera arm lock, opponent rolls out, continue chimera arm lock from cross mount to finish.

14. Leg lock defense:
a) Lock legs
b) Legs to the mat
c) Push out
d) Pull knee

15. Bottom of knee on belt (push knee escape), opponent goes for a knee bar, push out counter to far guard, knee bar, opponent defends with crossed legs, heel hook to finish.

16. Low ankle shoot takedown, move to cross mount, move to scarf hold, step over arm bar to finish.

17. Bottom of closed guard, near knee though to top of cross mount, move to mount (2 versions), switch to knee on belt, arm bar (near and far) to finish.

18. Striking: Round house kicks.

19. Lock and flow focus: Chimera

20. Review of yellow and orange:
A – Positions: Closed Guard (top and bottom), Mount, Cross Mount, Rear Mount, Scarf Hold, Side mount, Reveres Scarf Hold, North / South, S-mount, Half-guard

B- Guard Sweeps: Leg grab roll over (closed guard), Scissor sweep (closed guard), Belt scissor sweep (closed guard), Push knee scissor sweep (closed guard)

C - Guard Passes: Leg on shoulder pass (closed guard), Far knee through pass (closed guard), Switch over Pass (half guard)

D – Escapes:
Mount: bridge and roll, Foot lift / drag, Push hips double knee
Cross mount: Push hip
Scarf hold: Knee in back, leg over head, Leg over stretch
Rear mount: free leg and turn out

E - Take downs and throws:Pull guard, Tsuri-goshi, De-ashi-harai, Go-behind-spin, Kosoto-gari, Kosoto-gake

F - Arm Bars: mounted, Snap from cross mount, from side mount, from bottom closed guard, from rear mount, with legs from scarf hold, from S-mount

G - Arm Locks: Paint brush and chimera from cross mount, Paint brush with legs from scarf hold, Cross mount chimera to side mount 90 lock

H - Knee Bars: Step and knee through, from top of guard

I - Leg Locks: Figure 4 ankle lock, Crossed ankles from rear mount

J – Chokes: Cross choke (3 versions), Rear naked choke (2 versions), Basic choke, Triangle choke from guard, Front choke from cross mount, Head and arm choke, Punching choke,winding choke from side mount
